About

This resource was developed by the Washington Community Alliance Data Hub to make election data more accessible for organizers and voters in Washington state.

Getting started
Using the Data filters, first select an election to view results for, then use any of the other filters to narrow the options and choose a specific race. Results will display on the map and appear in a popup box. The results box can be expanded or condensed by dragging on the bottom of the box, or can be moved using the handle in the upper-right. When condensed, additional results can be viewed by scrolling. Precincts and districts will be colored based on the party of the winning candidate (color) and the margin between the top two candidates (opacity). Hover over individual districts or precincts to view results in a mini popup. If an office is shown for multiple districts, clicking on a district will show the results for that district.

Overlay district details
Use the District outlines panel to overlay outlines and labels for many of Washington's electoral districts. Outlines can be added for a single or multiple districts at once!

Methodology
Election results and geographic boundaries were sourced from publicly-available datasets in Washington state, including the Secretary of State, local election offices, and GIS portals. Data processing and web development were led by Tim O'Neal (Washington Community Alliance), and detailed precinct information and shapefiles were compiled by Ben Anderstone (Progressive Strategies Northwest).
